PUBLIC COMMENT REQUESTED
Proposed Amendments to Local Bankruptcy Rules
U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio

The Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the
Southern District of Ohio (“Committee”) has proposed amendments to the Local Bankruptcy Rules (“LBR”) and has requested that the proposals be published for public comment.  The proposed amendments are available by clicking the links below. The comment deadline is November 27, 2009.  Comments and suggestions may be submitted electronically to Ronald_Ammon@ohsb.uscourts.gov.  The Committee will review all timely comments and the comments shall be part of the public record and available to the public.
The LBR amendment process began in March of 2008 and included several
months of careful consideration and drafting by three subcommittees, assisted by a comprehensive list of suggestions and comments from the bar and interested parties.  This was followed by several months of review and revision by the Standing Committee.  Thereafter, the Bankruptcy Judges of the Southern District of Ohio thoroughly reviewed the proposed amendments and revised them further.  Numerous alternative rules and provisions have been considered and rejected during this process and some amendments have been included or rejected despite lack of unanimity.  It is possible that some comments requested by this notice will address issues that have already been considered and determined through this process.  Nevertheless, all comments and suggestions are encouraged and will be retained for future consideration even if they cannot be implemented during this amendment period.
