APPLICATIONS FOR ATTORNEY ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio is seeking membership for the Attorney Advisory Committee. The Committee serves as a resource that the Judges and the Clerk call upon to assist with court business.

The mission of the Committee is to:

Assist the Court and the Clerk’s Office in the identification of practices and procedures for the purpose of reducing expense and delay in the administration of justice;

Assist the Court and the Clerk’s Office with the implementation of various projects that impact the bankruptcy bar;

Serve as a resource for attorneys who practice in this District; and

Serve as a group dedicated to enhancing communication between the various stakeholders in the practice of bankruptcy law in this District.

Requirements for membership:

Admitted to practice before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio for at least three years;

Actively involved in bankruptcy practice;

Interested in the purpose and work of the Bankruptcy Court, particularly operations of the Clerk’s Office, e.g. CM/ECF, and the practice of the bankruptcy bar; and

Willing and able to contribute actively, both on a regular and ad hoc basis.

Membership consists of a cross‐section of attorneys to ensure geographic and practice diversity. The Committee currently consists of a Chapter 11 subcommittee and a Consumer/Small Business subcommittee.

The full Committee meets once a year at an in‐person meeting. The subcommittees meet three times per year via video conference. Additional meetings may be scheduled as necessary.
