NextGen CM/ECF
NextGen: Central Sign-On
On July 6, 2021, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio will be upgrading its Case Management/Electronic Case Filing System (CM/ECF) to the Next Generation of CM/ECF (NextGen). This upgrade will provide users with several benefits including Central Sign-On, which allows filers to use one PACER login and password to access any NextGen court (district, appellate, and bankruptcy) in which they have permission to file.
To prepare for this transition, you must complete the following tasks prior to July 6, 2021. Your PACER Account will be your login (entry point) for both PACER and CM/ECF; therefore, you MUST have your own Individual PACER Account.
Follow steps 1 through 3 below prior to July 6, 2021.
STEP | ACTION |
1 |
Do you have your own PACER account?
If you do not already have one, obtain your own individual PACER account. If you already have your own PACER account, then go to Step 2.

2 |
Have you upgraded your PACER account?
If you already have your own individual PACER account and it was created prior to August 11, 2014, you must upgrade your account before you can electronically file in a NextGen court. Do you know your current CM/ECF login and password?

If you do not know your password, please contact our Help Desk at nextgen@ohsb.uscourts.gov and request a password reset. Include your full name, CM/ECF login and primary CM/ECF email address in your correspondence.
