Obtaining an ECF Login and Password

ECF Attorney Filers and Pro Hac Vice Attorney Filers

Attorneys have several options in obtaining a Login and Password for filing in our Electronic Case Filing system. The first method is to complete our online computer based training (CBT) program. The training takes approximately 45 minutes to finish and it must be completed in one session. No special software is required for the CBT and it may be taken at your convenience. Although not required, non-attorney filers are also encouraged to complete the CBT. To access our CBT, click the hyperlink below:

CM/ECF Online Training

In special circumstances, or if ordered by the court, classroom CM/ECF training can be provided by the Clerk's Office. To arrange for classroom training contact the Deputy-in-Charge for the location (Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton) where training is being requested.

The final way for attorneys to obtain a Login and Password is to be qualified as an ECF Filer in another Bankruptcy Court. Attorneys who are ECF Filers in another Bankruptcy Court must visit PACER.gov to register for a PACER account. After a PACER account is established, registrants can request access to file with the court.

Limited Password Filers (Attorney and Non-Attorney)

Entities wishing to obtain a Login and Password as a Limited Filer, as described in Administrative Procedure 2(b), may receive a Login and Password without being required to complete training. To receive a Login and Password you must visit PACER.gov to register for a PACER account. After a PACER account is established, registrants can request access to file with the court.
