Attorney Advisory Committee

Purpose and Mission

The Attorney Advisory Committee (AAC) focuses on issues relevant to corporate and individual bankruptcies. AAC members include lawyers who specialize in representing debtors and creditors in restructurings involving large companies, and lawyers who focus on bankruptcy cases for individuals, all of whom help to provide additional and different perspectives to the topics addressed by the AAC.

The members of the AAC are appointed by the bankruptcy judges for the Southern District of Ohio.  The AAC serves as a resource that the Judges and the Clerk call upon to assist with Court business.

The mission of the AAC is to:

  • Assist the Court and the Clerk’s Office in the identification of practices and procedures for the purpose of reducing expense and delay in the administration of justice;
  • Assist the Court and the Clerk’s Office with the implementation of various projects that impact the bankruptcy bar;
  • Serve as a resource for attorneys who practice in this District; and
  • Serve as a group dedicated to enhancing communication between the various stakeholders in the practice of bankruptcy law in this District.
