Photo Identification Requirements
Friday, July 5, 2019
The Real ID Act establishes minimum security standards for state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards. Beginning October 1, 2020, the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration, among other federal agencies, will not permit access to certain federal facilities by means of state-issued identification that is not compliant with the Real ID security standards.
Access to the courthouses of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio is not affected by the Real ID Act. The court has no current plans to require identification that is compliant with the Real ID security standards. Additionally, the court is not aware of any plans to require Real ID compliant identification to access Section 341 meetings of creditors in any location in the district.
