MEDIATION PROGRAM EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 2, 2020

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio is adopting a Mediation Program effective November 2, 2020. The Mediation Program shall be available for all open bankruptcy cases, adversary proceedings, and contested matters currently pending in this District on or after November 2, 2020.

The Mediation Procedures and Mediation Forms, which may be amended from time to time, are available on the Court’s website at www.ohsb.uscourts.gov under the “Rules and Forms” tab.

The Court is currently soliciting applications from people interested in serving as mediators. Any persons interested in serving as a mediator may complete and return the Mediator Application which is included on the Court’s website with the other Mediation Program materials. The requirements to serve as a mediator are:

Requirements. For an attorney to be eligible to be on the roster, the individual shall be a member in good standing of the bar of the State of Ohio and shall be admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. For a non-attorney to be eligible to be on the roster, the individual shall be licensed or accredited in their respective profession, e.g., accounting, engineering.
