The Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee considers modifications and additions to the local rules and forms necessary to deal with any gap areas in new laws and national rules and to create consistency and efficiency in the practice of law in our bankruptcy courts.

The Standing Committee of the Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee includes two attorney members from each of the three court localities in the Southern District of Ohio. We are seeking applicants to fill the positions in all three localities for the upcoming term.

The bankruptcy judges select the members of the Standing Committee. Bankruptcy expertise is the primary criterion for selection, but the judges also seek geographic and practice diversity. Consequently, debtor attorneys, creditor attorneys, governmental attorneys, and panel trustees, among others, who regularly practice in the field of consumer or commercial bankruptcy law are urged to submit their names for consideration.

Any attorney interested in serving on the Standing Committee should submit the attached application on or before March 3, 2025.
